The fabulous Guest Designer for Vacation Week is Ginny Hughes!

Short bio: I have been scrapbooking on and off for about five years, but I’ve been really addicted for the past two years. I live in New Hampshire with my husband and five kids, so I always have tons of memories and photos to scrap. I consider myself more of any everyday scrapper, I like to get the day-to-day events down on paper. I have met some amazing people through this craft and had many amazing opportunities. I was so excited when I was asked to Guest Design for American Crafts, thank you for this very cool experience!

How did you get started scrapbooking? I have always been a fairly crafty person and once I started having kids and the tons of photos that followed, scrapbooking them seemed like a no-brainer!

What is your favorite American Crafts product? I know this is probably the most popular answer, but Thickers. I think Thickers are probably in the top three best scrapbooking inventions ever! I barely make a page that doesn’t have a Thicker slapped on there somewhere :)

I loved this yellow sunburst paper, it was just begging to be accented with some bright colors. I used a craft knife and cut some of the boxes out then backed it with some more patterned paper.

MY SUMMER 2012 by Ginny Hughes

I made this mini album for my oldest girls to record some of their summer memories. I filled it with prompts about things that I know we will do in the summer so it is super easy for them to fill in the journaling and add pictures.
